Four members of the Church Council shall be elected every year at the annual meeting of the Voters Assembly. The Board of Elders shall serve as the Nominating Committee to present a slate of candidates to serve on the Church Council. They shall submit a slate of eight candidates at the annual meeting of the Voters Assembly. Candidates may be added or deleted from the slate by the approval of two-thirds of the voters present. Four candidates shall be selected by chance from the final slate to serve on the Church Council for a two-year term, beginning the first day of January.

It shall be the duty of the Church Council to consider, discuss and act upon all matters pertaining to the general welfare of the congregation, to review all reports, and to present recommendations to the congregation. The Church Council shall act in matters delegated to it by the Voters’ Assembly. In cases of emergency it shall have the power to act in behalf of the congregation between meetings of the Voters Assembly. The Church Council shall appoint any committees which it deems necessary to carry out its responsibilities. The Church Council, at their own initiative or upon direction of the Voters Assembly, shall establish and/or dissolve all auxiliary organizations within the congregation and regulate and supervise their conduct. The Church Council shall meet monthly or as needed on a date and at a time fixed by the Church Council. At least five members of the Church Council must be present to constitute a quorum. Vacancies on the Church Council and in the office of President shall be filled by the Church Council. The Pastor(s), Treasurer, and a representative from the Board of Elders shall be ex officio members of the Church Council. The representative of the Board of Elders shall serve as President in his absence. Current members include Bill Anderson, Mark Anderson, Hal Braun, Eileen Esget, Scott Grau, Carl Hartness, Tim Lavanger and Brenda Richards.
